Watch: Getting the balance right between farming and nature

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: A view from the farm, Sustainable Farming Incentive

This is the third in a series of films exploring how environmental improvements and farming go hand in hand in the Lake District.

Local farm facilitator Danny Teasdale talks with auctioneer and Managing Director of The Farmer Network, Adam Day, about the importance of building environmental solutions that fit with farmers’ businesses.

They also talk about the financial opportunities available to farmers through environmental land management in areas like the Lake District.

The opinions expressed in the film are from Danny and Adam’s perspective. We thank them for sharing them with us.

Good to see, be good also to reflect the role of the groups set up across Cumbria and other counties supported by the Facilitation Fund. Group based approaches get beyond the kitchen table and can deliver bigger and better outcomes than doing it alone.

Very good discussion with points well made. Let's hope the policymakers turn it into reality.
