In this post, Emma Bailey-Beech writes about her background in agriculture and how it led to working on the Future Farming and Countryside Programme. We’re grateful to have people in the team with hands-on experience in the farming sector, and can bring it to bear on our work.
Emma has worked across the agricultural supply chain from farm to abattoir, and within livestock policy in Defra. She is now a policy adviser in the Sustainable Farming Incentive Pilot Team (part of the team working on environmental land management schemes) and leads on a project looking at how Defra schemes could interact with external assurance schemes to improve how we monitor Sustainable Farming Incentive agreements.
