Bethan is a natural scientist in the environmental land management team.
Along with other analysts from multiple disciplines and backgrounds, she provides natural science evidence to support the development of our environmental land management schemes.
Before joining Defra in 2021, Bethan studied and worked in the areas of conservation and animal behaviour.
In this post, I’ll share a few scientific examples of how the actions within the Sustainable Farming Incentive can support businesses, bring about positive environmental outcomes whilst maintaining — and in some cases boosting — food production.
